Export One: Africa!
The Africa Trade Office (ATO), established in 2008 through an SBA grant, and the Bowie State University International Business Initiative (BSU-IBI) led by the College of Business are collaborating with the Department of English and Modern Languages, and Addis Ababa University (AAU), in Ethiopia, as well as area Chambers of Commerce to enhance the abilities of current and potential small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the Washington Metropolitan area to do business internationally.
Export One:Africa! an international business course designed by the Africa Trade Office to provide "new-to-export" companies a detailed review of the fundamentals of international trade an international business course to demystify international trade for U.S. firms. During the SPRING2011 Export One will be offered at Bowie State University will be taught and hosted by Bowie State University!
This curriculum is geared toward action—producing an export marketing plan and completing a trade deal. In 8 intense class sessions, this course weaves the principles of international business with the practical experience and recommendations of practitioners
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

COURSE CONTENT?
- This curriculum is geared toward action—producing an export marketing plan and completing a trade deal. In eight (8) intense class sessions, this course weaves the principles of international business with the practical experience and recommendations of practitioners.
- Class format allows the Bowie State University Professor to teach the business concepts using the textbook, and independent case studies. The second half of each class session will permit at least two practitioners to present (e.g. real bank requirements, marketing techniques, payment strategies, partnering approaches, etc.).
